In its renowned Belgian Technovation Centre (R&D), our client, a leader in glass innovation, is expanding its activities by developing a branch dedicated to chemicals, alongside its existing automotive and construction divisions.

This strategic move fosters collaboration among three core R&D departments under one roof. They supply a wide variety of advanced functional products, such as fluoropolymer films with excellent resistance to heat, chemicals, and weather, as well as fluororubber, paint fluoropolymers, fluorine gases, and solvents.

This growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager - Silica Products for Cosmetics to spearhead innovation in this burgeoning field.

Key Responsibilities

Your mission will include laboratory work focusing on the development of silica products fitting cosmetics customer needs, understanding of raw materials characteristics, and providing technical support to commercial and project teams.

More specifically, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive laboratory work to develop silica products optimized for cosmetic formulations.
  • Engage directly with key customers to understand their unique requirements and provide tailored technical support.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and project teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Formulate cosmetic prototypes, conduct thorough evaluations, and report findings effectively.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments by participating in relevant exhibitions and events.
  • Contribute to promotional activities aimed at showcasing our client's innovative products and solutions.

Candidate Profile:

  • A Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Material/Analytical Chemistry or related fields.
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in material formulation and development, with a preference for experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or related sectors.
  • Strong technical expertise in raw materials properties, formulation techniques, and chemical laboratory practices.
  • Knowledge of the cosmetic industry and silica-based chemistry would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with quality and safety regulations applicable to chemical laboratories.
  • Proven ability to excel in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Asian or Japanese languages is a plus.
  • A valid driving license.
