Our client, a fast-growing biotech SME, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR T) therapies for cancer. They are developing a diversified pipeline of allogeneic and autologous CAR T cell therapy candidates for cancer patients with hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
You will participate in the design, supervision, planning and execution of specific scientific efforts geared towards the generation and optimization of new allogeneic CAR-T cell manufacturing processes that would consistently generate high number of cells with the best fitness to attack tumors cells and support the passage of therapies into clinical trials.
Secondly, you will provide an interface that enables the smooth and positive interaction between R&D and the rest of the company including participation in company-wide programs and project team management, ensuring the efficient co-operation and connection to all teams to achieve the common goal of clinical trial delivery.
The main tasks are:
You have a PhD degree in biological sciences with emphasis on immunology or induced pluripotent stem cells. You demonstrate a strong expertise in metabolism, cell culture, CAR-T cells, gene transfer (e.g. retrovirus, lentivirus, transposons,…) and/or exploitation of next generation sequencing (e.g. RNA sequencing). An expertise in primary cell culture and immunological assays (e.g. cytokine release assay, flow cytometry, cytotoxicity and proliferation assays) is an advantage.
You ideally have at least 4 relevant experience in research within a Biotech/Pharma company including process development and/or cell therapy development.
You are an accomplished researcher with strong scientific and technical background evidenced by high quality peer-reviewed publication record, good scientific presentations and tangible experience in scientific project management.
You are fluent in English, orally and in writing; working knowledge of French would be an advantage.
You are willing to optimize cell metabolism & product and demonstrate a strong passion for research and sciences.
You have an enthusiastic and self-motivated personality, able to work in autonomy and pro-activity.
