We are looking for a dynamic Head of Epigenomics Laboratory Services to lead a motivated team, for their Life Sciences section. This role is responsible for providing laboratory services to a global customer base, focusing on expansion to align with the growth of the business.

Your key missions

Expand epigenetics laboratory services in Belgium and the United States.

  • Drive the strategic planning and tactical execution of the laboratory activities.
  • Develop structures and strengthen the interaction and alignment between the international and US organizations in Hologic.
  • Interact with clients to recognize unmet needs and identification of trends and business opportunities in the field.

Create and uphold the quality management system.

  • Lead the process of setting up and ensuring continuous quality system improvement.

Establish, mentor, and cultivate a global team to execute the business strategy and uncover opportunities by comprehending unmet needs.

  • Build, coach, and develop a global team (Europe and USA), and engage them to achieve short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to improve processes and increase the team’s efficiency.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Business Development and Sales teams (Europe, USA) to ensure efficient commercialization of lab services (project design, quoting and training needs).
  • In charge of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities.
  • In collaboration with the finance team, optimise overall profitability and adopt a continuous quality improvement approach.

Your qualifications

You have at least a Master's degree (a PhD is a plus) in life sciences, and a career combining research experience in genetics or epigenetics complemented by proven experience in a clinical laboratory with a thorough knowledge of ISO/GCP/GLP/CLIA quality system regulations.

You have a keen understanding of the CRO/pharma market and can thrive in complex organisational environments. You have an in-depth knowledge of laboratory services quality management systems and root cause analysis methods.

You are an inspirational leader, able to motivate and direct laboratory service teams to achieve goals and objectives by influencing the behaviour of representatives.

You are comfortable building strong collaborative relationships with other teams (R&D, marketing, HR, finance, and logistics) and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
